Commonwealth Graduate Engineering Program (CGEP)

CGEP

CGEP allows a student to earn a master’s degree in one of 12 disciplines of engineering with minimal sacrifice to family or employment responsibilities. Through CGEP’s new interactive distance-learning technology, students can communicate with their instructors as well as with students in classrooms at other sites.

The Commonwealth Graduate Engineering Program (CGEP) is an academic network of graduate degree programs offered by several universities to more than 20 sites throughout the state. The University of Mary Washington’s Center for Professional Development hosts several engineering degree programs via VA Tech, University of Virginia and Old Dominion University.

General requirements for application to the CGEP are:

  • Application and fee: $45 VA Tech; $60 UVA; $30 ODU
  • Three letters of reference
  • GRE test score, if applicable
  • Transcripts from all previous study to be considered

You may register for and take course(s) while deciding on and/or applying for admission. Check with your university for specifics.
