The University of Mary Washington Center for Economic Development is home to many programs and each offers the community, students, and businesses the resources, networking guides, and location for many needs in the regional area. Below is a list programs offered at the Center and who it is geared towards.

 

StartUpUMW is an entrepreneur education program for UMW undergraduate students. The semester long program covers topics of market opportunity, solution ideation, customer experience, and pitch preparation.

EagleWorks is a program offered to the community in which Entrepreneurs need a space to get their business up and running. It provides a knit group of professionals always eager to help.

The UMW Small Business Development Center is a resource center that provides assistance to the small business community via management training, industrial and demographic research, and confidential one-on-one consulting with a focus on capital access and management planning.

Eagle Innovation is a one-day business pitch competition open to all UMW and Germanna students. This event is held annually in the spring semester. Students pitch their idea to a panel of business professionals, and the three winning teams will receive prize money to fund their company. Grand prize of $2,000.
