Federal Contracting 101

Are you new to Federal Government contracting?  Then this class is for you!  Join us for a two-hour class with guest speaker, Stacey Coolican, Virginia PTAP Counselor and retired Senior Department of Defense Contracting Officer, as we go over the basics of doing business with the Federal Government.  In this class, you will learn what registrations are required and how to register, what socio-economics are and why they are important, the basic government procurement process, different contract types, where to find opportunities and much more!

Stacey Coolican is a former Department of Defense career Contracting Officer, a service-disabled veteran and member of the Acquisition Corps. During a distinguished 21 year civil service career, Stacey served as a contract specialist and Contracting Officer (with an unlimited warrant) for several agencies within the Department of Defense and currently has her own contracting consulting business.  Stacey earned a Master’s Degree in Acquisition Management from the American Graduate University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Networking from Strayer University (Summa Cum Laude).  She also holds two Master’s Certificates and two Associates Degrees from various universities.  Stacey is DAWIA Level III certified in Contracting, Level I certified in Program Management, a Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) and a previous 3-term board member for the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) Old Dominion Chapter.
